Tea Tree Oil – Wonder from Down Under
Posted in 'General' on April 7, 2010
One of my all time favourite beauty essentials is none other than Tea Tree Oil. Yes, as well as being widely used for medicinal purposes it is also useful for a variety of natural beauty treatments. It is an essential oil distilled from the leaves of the melaleuca plant, which is indigenous to Australia. With proven antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, it is effective for a multitude of common skin conditions.
As a beauty essential, I have discovered it is a natural way to treat acne, blisters, cold sores, oily skin, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, pimples, sunburn, nail infections, ingrown hairs, body odours and dandruff, to name a few.
Tea Tree Oil is also prevalent in many modern beauty products such as acne treatments. You have probably noticed that many hair care products, soaps, cleansers and body lotions also contain Tea Tree Oil. Skincare brands such as Dermalogica feature it in a wide range of their products as an ingredient that delivers professional results.
Here are some other highly effective Tea Tree Oil products:
Ultraceuticals
Ultra Clear Treatment Gel.
A complex, balanced formulation including Retinol, Vitamin E, AHA, BHA, Tea Tree Oil, Eucalyptus Oil and Green Tea Extract to help improve the appearance of oily/acne conditions.
Y natural 403 Clear Organic Toner
Containing a mixture of organic hydrosols from three members of the Tea Tree family and other beneficial plants. Tea Trees are well known for their anti- inflammatory, anti infectious and its anti bacterial properties which make this certified organic hydrosol very beneficial for problematic skin including pimple breakouts and acne type problems.
Mr. Essentials Cream Body Cleanser
Re-moisturises and deodorises, giving smooth and soft skin as well as all day freshness. Powerful deep cleansing action, yet gentle enough to be used on the most sensitive skin. The neutral pH of this formulation prevents the skin from drying out.
Tea Tree Oil is the ultimate medicine kit in a bottle, and it is a ‘must have’ in every home. Do you already use Tea Tree Oil? If so, do you have any other uses for it?

Posted in 'Shopping ideas' on April 22, 2010
Even if you are on a budget and can’t afford something too
extravagant, you need not despair you won’t need to spend a
fortune to make your mum feel treasured this Mother's
Day. A simple and heartfelt gesture like creating
her own personal makeover at home can provide her with some much needed
spoiling she is truly worthy of and some time out to unwind.
Here are some steps to help you re-create your own personal spa
experience from home.
1.
Prepare yourself for the day by organizing a gift bag filled
with special beauty treats for your mum.
2.
Cook her a special breakfast or shout her some homemade
morning tea.
3.
Light up some scented candles, play a bit of soothing music,
fill up a tub with lots of bubbles, and let your mum soak away her
worries.
4.
Leave her with some
true solutions face and body scrub for gently massaging into her
face and body to remove any dead skin cells, refine pores and leave her
with glowing radiant skin.
5.
She can follow it up by slathering on some asap
revitalising bodymoist
with AHA’s to help replenish her skin.
6. Wrap
her in a fluffy robe and offer her a facial steam. Fill a
large basin with hot water and place a towel over her head for five
minutes while the steam softens and hydrates her skin. You can
enhance her relaxation by adding a few drops of essential oil or even
some fresh lemon juice to the hot water.
7.
While her skin is still damp, apply a soothing mask suitable
for her particular skin type and/or concerns. Now is her time
to lie down and rest, for at least 20 minutes, and relax.
8. Pop a
couple of slices of cucumber over her closed eyes and set to work
giving her feet a pedicure while she enjoys the whole
experience. Try md
formulations pedicreme
to exfoliate any dry rough skin allowing her tired feet to feel soft
and retextured. Move on to a manicure and gentle hand massage
before finishing off by painting her favourite colour polish on her
finger and toenails.
9.
After the mask, spread a vitamin infused serum like
jw organics phyto-vitamin facial serum or emerginC
complexion perfection
over her skin to penetrate and instantly leave her skin silky and
radiant. Once this has absorbed you should then nourish her
skin with a moisturiser. Select a moisturiser combined with UV
protection because certain treatments can make her skin more
photosensitive.
ultraceuticals protective daily moisturiser spf30+ is a good lightweight option
or if she prefers a richer more hydrating cream try dermalogica
extra rich faceblock spf30.
10.
Finally complete the makeover session by styling her hair and
applying her preferred makeup to create her fresh new look.
She will be feeling fabulous from head to toe and look like she has just
stepped out of her own private salon.
Hope this will give you some hints
and solutions to organize your mum’s special day and make it
cheerful, happy and full of love.
Happy Mother’s Day!
