These days it seems like the entire world is going green. We have green cars, green bags, green energy; so shouldn’t it stand to reason that our make up should be green as well?
With the ever growing emphasis on environmental issues, it’s becoming more and more important for people to go the extra mile to do the right thing in the effort to save the planet…but that’s no reason to let your standards drop, is it? Which is why I am personally very excited about Inika, an exclusively natural, Australian owned mineral make up company that is positively revolutionising the way we see make up.
Unlike many other mineral make up brands, when Inika products say natural, they mean natural. Inika products are guaranteed to be completely free from harsh, destructive ingredients such as petrochemicals and parabens, as well as being one of the only make up brands in the world to be certified as vegan organic. In addition to this, the brand is 100% cruelty free.
The Inika range currently includes 83 permanent products, ranging from eyes, to lips, to the face as a whole. The collection includes foundations, lip sticks and glosses, eye liners and shadows, blushes, concealers…I could go on, but instead, I’m going to share with you a couple of my personal favourites.
Mineral Foundation
Inika mineral foundations are tri-active, working as a foundation, concealer and powder in one. They’re light weight and effective, leaving your skin with a healthy, natural radiance. They don’t clog your pores, and they don’t irritate your skin. In fact, Inika foundations are so gentle that they are routinely recommended by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons to women with sensitive skin that is prone to irritation. Additionally, all Inika foundations contain SPF20 sun protection to defend against harmful UV rays.
Now, I’m the sort of person who likes to wear powdered foundation pretty much everyday, which can cause some issues. A lot of the powders I’ve tried have been heavy on the skin, and not only can I feel it, I can see it in the mirror as well (and I think we can all agree that no one likes cake face). With Inika, it’s different. It’s like not wearing powder at all; having naturally radiant skin.
Inika mineral foundations can also be used in conjunction with the mineral setting powder, which reduces the skins oil production and diminishes the appearance of large pores to give the skin a matte appearance.
Mineral Eye shadow
Inika mineral eye shadows come in a wide range of vibrant colours, from rich browns to electric blues. Lip Whip
Inika lip whips are certified organic, with natural ingredients such as honey, beeswax and rosehip to plump and moisturise your lips. These lip whips smell and taste amazing; it’s like eating lollies without the unfortunate getting fat part.
Now, something I cannot stand about many lip glosses is how sticky they are. Sure, they’re shiny and bright, they may look good, but every time the wind whips my hair it gets stuck to my lips.
